The Champions League resumes tomorrow night, with four fixtures. Arsenal travel to AC Milan without having conceded an away goal but also without scoring themselves (Adebayor probably won’t ever come closer to scoring without actually doing so…). The San Siro is not somewhere I’d like to go if I needed to score, so will the Gunners muster up something special?
Scottish champions Celtic gave a strong account of themselves in the first leg of this fixture, scoring twice at home past 2005/2006 winners Barcelona before eventually succumbing to the greater quality of the Spaniards. With Barcelona leading this tie 3-2 on aggregate, all three goals of course being Away goals, it will take quite a performance from the Scots to turn the tie around.
Manchester United got the important away goal in the first leg at Lyon, but could only draw 1 - 1 in that game. They’re always strong at home, so many will be expecting the English team to progress here but Lyon have proved a tough proposition in recent years and shouldn’t be counted out.
Sevilla host Fenerbache, with the Turks leading 3-2 after the first leg. I must admit I failed to catch any of this match so I’m not sure which way this one will go - perhaps Sevilla will make home advantage count with the scores so close, especially considering the two away goals they bring in to tomorrow’s match.
